Case study, 04 of 05K & A concept logo, the workwear patch in acid green with the wordmark on near-black

K & A

Landscaping, decking, fencing, hardscape. Northside Jacksonville FL.

Concept work. Unsolicited. Not affiliated with K & A Landscaping, Inc.

K & A is an unsolicited concept rebrand of a real Jacksonville business, K & A Landscaping, Inc. on the Northside. Nobody there asked for it and nothing in the package is their asset. They hold a 4.9 rating on 23 Google reviews doing landscaping, decking, fencing and hardscape, while the crew in the same neighborhood sits at 383 reviews. The gap is not the work. It is a GoDaddy builder template with a teal gradient nav bar, a stock photo of a limestone Mediterranean house that is not in Florida, and a 714 area code on a Jacksonville phone line.

The mark is a workwear patch. A hard rectangle, square corners, K&A inside it, and two bars in the ground color cutting straight across the letters as stencil bridges. Their existing logo already sits inside corner brackets, so the frame is not an invention, it is the one bone worth keeping. The palette is near-black plus one acid chartreuse and nothing else. Not sage, not forest, not the muted green every lawn crew in the country already owns.

Grounded in Carhartt (identity as a sewn label rather than a logo lockup, applied at whatever size the object allows), Liquid Death (the joke printed on the object itself, so the truck bed reads FENCE GOES UP TUESDAY at door-panel scale), and Oatly (deadpan copy that keeps the boring line in, so the estimate sheet says grass last, because it gets walked on).

What makes it loud

The wordmark is not drawn on the mow stripes, it is cut out of them. Every letter changes color band by band and nothing outlines the type. Take the stripes away and there is no wordmark left on the panel.
